Description
To use the chain harrow the 2-wheel tractor must be fitted with a trailer and the harrow is hitched to the rear axle of the trailer. The chain harrow is like a carpet / mat of chains that have spikes that protrude down towards the ground, the mat is fixed to a bar, the width of the mat, and this bar is in turn pulled by the 2 wheel tractor. As the spikes pass over the grass they ‘rake up / pull out’ the dead grass and thatch that accumulates at the base of the grass growth. The chain harrow can also be used for leveling areas of sand, soil or artificial surfaces such as in riding arenas.
